The Darkening
Only a few weeks away from the Solstice, we are entering into the darkest time of the year.  A time to go inside, to pause, to reflect, to be in stillness.   

And sometimes on long, dark winter nights the most nurturing thing to do is gather together with some loved ones and warm ourselves with our shared heart-fires!  

This month we'll keep on dancing and holding space for community, Mondays and Thursdays.  We also have some special events planned for Solstice and Christmas Eve!  Join us on the dancefloor to release, to let go, to empty, to reflect, and to find the stillness that comes after movement.


CURRENT EVENTS

Monday Evenings 
7-9pm, Beaver Point Hall, $10-15.   
Monday nights offer a sweet dance experience - there's often a core group of dancers and lots of spaciousness on the dance floor to move and get creative.

Thursday Evenings 
7-9pm, Beaver Point Hall, $10-15.  
And of course, if you want to get swept into the wild energy of a full dance floor then this one's for you!

A Note About Children:
On Thursday evenings, we now have a playmate for the kids when they’re not up for dancing.  This is not a childcare or babysitting service – your kids are still solely your responsibility.  You are still required to keep an eye out for your kids and check on them regularly.  Dance Temple is offering compensation for this service, and in the spirit of acknowledgement and appreciation, we are also asking for tips /donations for the big energy this requires. We'd suggest 2-5$ per evening.  Thanks for helping us hold the diversity of our community in the dance!


SPECIAL REMINDER 

Dance Temple is a safe and sacred space that is intoxicant-free.  If you are partaking in any substances before you come to dance, please do so discreetly and be aware of any scent that you may bring with you into the dance space.  When we dance we are in a heightened state of sensitivity and we can strongly affect one another.  


 SPECIAL DANCE TEMPLE EVENTS 

Dance Temple Solstice Celebration
Dance Temple invites you to join us in a simple honouring of this potent time of year.  Please arrive at 7pm to begin our celebration together.   We will co-create a short solstice ritual which will unfold into a dance celebration followed by a sound bath.  
Cedar will be facilitating the evening supported by Lila, Cat, Shauna and other Dance Temple community members.  
The evening will go until 9:30pm and there will be tea offered afterwards.  Please bring some finger foods to share!

Christmas Eve Dance
We will be dancing as usual on Christmas Eve!  
Come and join us for an intimate community evening.  We'll have a finger-food potluck beginning at 6pm, dancing at 7pm, and we'll end the night with a gift-sharing circle.  Bring something you've made to gift and trade!  
Cedar will be hosting and offering some luscious beats for us to warm up our bodies and no doubt our gathering together will warm up our hearts!

Love ~ with Shauna Devlin

You are invited to spend the day inquiring and moving with love. We will use the 5Rhythms practice and the poetry of Rumi to explore, lean into and perhaps better understand our knowing of love. No experience is necessary. Movement is self-paced and gently facilitated.
