Who We Are
NAOMI JASON
The co-founder of "Dance Temple" on Salt Spring Island, Naomi's passion for authentic embodiment inspires people of all ages and walks of life. A Medical Qigong Therapist, qigong, dance and yoga teacher, dance artist, choreographer, artistic director, producer and lifetime organic farmer, her life's path is founded on the joy of coming into alignment with the body and the earth. Through this alignment, her broader vision is to create community where abundance and regeneration is possible. A born leader and healer, she brings out the brightest light in those she touches and works for inclusivity in all that she that undertakes.
Naomi is a professionally trained contemporary dancer, Medical Qigong Therapist and Moksha Yoga teacher.
"For me to dance is to live. Life is a dance on all levels; organs, bones and cells, emotions, thoughts and actions. To move consciously is to pray with reverence to all that is. I am truly honoured to be sharing that which brings me health, balance and delight and for the opportunity to deepen my understanding of the mystery of this shared human experience."

AKINAH (CAT) WILSON
Dance has always been her way of finding reliable truth. Body-based movement inspires realness and she is so grateful for the rich learning of self-awareness and connection it brings! Akinah is a bodyworker (craniosacral, Hawaiian lomilomi, and abdominal massage) based on Salt Spring Island and has been in the Dance Temple collective for around 6 years. She has studied SomaSource and dance-focused rites of passage with Melissa Michaels and has been immersed in dance in Brazil, Africa, the Middle East and North America. Cat's music is often a mix of sultry, world music intended to create a dreamy emotional landscape.
CEDAR MATHIAS
Cedar is passionate about guiding people into intentional dance spaces and she holds the ground for inner transformation, connection, and celebration. She believes that movement and sound are keys to experiencing the freedom of authentic expression and direct paths to connect to one’s Self and the body’s innate wisdom.
Along with being a movement facilitator and DJ, Cedar is also a mother, artist, practitioner and teacher of Jin Shin Do Acupressure, and on the path of acquiring a Master's in Counselling Psychology and becoming a trained counsellor and Somatic Experiencing Practitioner.
She is so grateful to the community of Dance Temple to be in service to what has been her greatest medicine - conscious movement.
